Margaret Cho is an established fashion designer, actress, author, and singer-songwriter. Despite her laundry list of vocations, Margaret is primarily known as a comedian with stand up routines critiquing social and political problems, especially those pertaining to race and sexuality. The Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon kicks off with a 1.5-mile swim from Alcatraz Island into the chilly waters of the San Francisco Bay. From there, athletes take on an 18-mile bike ride along the Great Highway and through Golden Gate Park, before finishing strong with an 8-mile run through the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
